DESIGN BRIEF
This is a project based on researching and storytelling. I created six words based on the brand's background, travel location, and users. Then applied them to the design in a creative way.
THE STORY STARTS HERE
ANNECY, FRANCE
Annecy, a French town close to the Alps, began its journey. It is a paradise for outdoor enthusiasts and ski lovers.
FROM A SMALL WORKSHOP
Out of his love for skiing and a background in metal processing, Francios Salomon founded the workshop with his wife and son. At first, they processed ski edges and other ski equipment.

In the wilderness of central California, there is a place that have towering snow-capped mountains reaching up to the sky, winding trails surrounded by dense forests, and vibrant, lush meadows. It is the Pacific Crest Trail.

PCT - JOHN MUIR TRAIL
Deep into the trail, a symphony of nature is playing out. However, beneath the beautiful scenery lies serious challenges. When hikers enter this trail, they need to be ready to adapt to constantly changing temperatures, altitudes, environments, and climates.

TECHNOLOGY
HEAT RESPONSIVE FABRIC
A material that changes shape in response to temperature. At low temperatures, the vents are closed to maintain temperature. When the temperature is high, they will open to help release heat.
CONCEPTS FOR TECHNOLOGY
APPLYING IN THE HIKING SHOE
The feet are an important area for retaining and dissipating heat, it is important to keep it at the right temperature. The heat responsive fabric can help travelers adjust the heat dissipation rate of their footsteps at any time according to different time periods and different environment.
